fly by Darwin CX, MEXO and Zenit X pool their service expertise in a new company powered by the fly by Darwin CX platform, uniting comprehensive subscription services, processes and consulting with modern technology for publishers for the first time.
Hamburg, Germany — Launching on January 1, 2027, SubPulse GmbH will be one of the largest full-service providers of subscription and customer management in the German publishing and media sector. The new company brings together the full-service expertise of fly by Darwin CX, MEXO and Zenit X, with fly by Darwin CX contributing its publisher services expertise in particular. SubPulse will run on the fly by Darwin CX software platform, giving publishers and media companies a single partner for subscription management, customer care and the technology that powers recurring-revenue businesses. The company will launch with approximately 40 employees and 80 publishing clients.
SubPulse will support publishers across key parts of the subscription lifecycle, including account and key-account management, accounts receivable, fulfillment, customer care, business analytics and e-commerce. By bringing these services together with consulting and an integrated technology platform, SubPulse is designed to reduce the number of separate interfaces publishers need to manage, connect day-to-day workflows and create a stronger foundation for efficient, scalable operations.
Beyond its role as a service partner, fly by Darwin CX also provides the technology that powers SubPulse. The fly by Darwin CX platform connects subscription management and fulfillment with finance, reporting, marketing and e-commerce, linking online and offline processes in one integrated system. SubPulse plans to transition all of its publishing clients to the platform, helping them transform their operations, work more efficiently and stay positioned to adapt to whatever the future of publishing brings.
“With SubPulse, we are creating an offering that has not existed in this form in the German market until now,” said Christian Süss, Managing Director of SubPulse. “We are combining many years of experience in subscription and customer management with consulting and modern technology. For our customers, that means fewer interfaces, more efficient and faster processes, and all key services from a single source.”
“This merger allows us to pool structures and expertise and make full use of existing synergies,” said Andreas Koch, Managing Director of SubPulse. “At the same time, it gives us the scale we need to further automate and digitize our processes. Our customers benefit directly through greater efficiency, speed and scalability.”
Technology and service, brought together for the first timeTechnology and service, brought together for the first time
The formation of SubPulse also marks a consolidation in the German market for subscription and customer management: for the first time, service and technology providers are joining forces on this scale. By pooling the teams, processes and experience of fly by Darwin CX, MEXO and Zenit X on a single technology platform, SubPulse aims to more closely integrate consulting, operational processing and technology, capabilities that have often been delivered separately.
“Technology delivers its greatest value when it isn’t designed in isolation from operational processes,” said Alexander Münch, Advisory Board Member of SubPulse and CEO of fly by Darwin CX. “With SubPulse, we bring the two together. Combining market knowledge, service expertise and a modern, scalable platform lays the foundation for making existing business models more efficient while bringing new subscription models to market faster.”
“The demands on subscription and customer management are changing significantly,” said Michael Staudenmaier, aAdvisory Board Member of SubPulse and Managing Partner of Zenit X “Publishers need solutions that ease their day-to-day workload while giving them the flexibility to grow their business. That is exactly where SubPulse comes in: we combine many years of market knowledge with new technological possibilities.”
Launching with around 40 employees at five locations
SubPulse will initially focus on publishers and media companies. Its service model may also be applicable to other businesses built around subscriptions and recurring customer relationships.
The company will commence operations on January 1, 2027, with approximately 40 employees across its locations in Hamburg, Stuttgart, Osnabrück, Meckenheim and Stockelsdorf. fly by Darwin CX, MEXO and Zenit X will each hold an equal stake in SubPulse.
SubPulse will be led by Managing Directors Christian Süss (previously Head of Client Management & Business Development at MEXO) and Andreas Koch (previously Head of Managed Service at dsb, now fly by Darwin CX). Alexander Münch, Michael Staudenmaier and Martin Lange represent the three shareholders on the Advisory Board, supporting management strategically in building a future-proof business model and opening up new market potential.
